There are five things a leader manages: people, time, money, equipment, and your product or service—in essence, your business.

Now, the important reason for knowing that is that we tend to get involved with the last three. We get absorbed by the last three, and we don’t give attention to the first two.

It’s understandable why. If we don’t manage our money, we go out of business. If we don’t manage our business, we go out of business. And if we don’t manage our equipment, things can come to a stop.

However, if you manage your people really well and your time really well, it makes the other three go much easier.

And that’s the purpose of this tutorial—to help you understand that those need attention too.

In fact, there are many tutorials and teachings in the Truby Management System that help you know how to deal with people. And we’ve always heard that when you manage your people well and build a high-performing team, your business runs better. It’s more productive, it’s more profitable, and you save yourself time.

Now, obviously, time is a piece that you need to manage too. But when you listen to our tutorial on time management, you will find that time management is never about managing time. It’s about managing you IN time.

So the purpose of this particular teaching is a simple purpose.

Make sure that you understand that there are five areas that you are managing or should be managing. Don’t get so absorbed with the three that you need to do, that you don’t do the ones that you should do as well.

Manage your people. Build a high-performing team. Take time to manage your time. And when you do that, it will make everything run much more smoothly. You’ll be less stressed, and everyone will find a greater amount of success.
