Listening is a much more important part of the communication process than talking.
When a person does not feel listened to, they don’t feel valued. They feel distant.
They don’t want to engage. They don’t necessarily want to be forthcoming.
Listening is so so important.
You hear people being complimented saying “They’re a good listener.”
You don’t hear “They’re a good talker.”
So if you really want to amp up your communication skills, practice listening even more than talking.
